The company has prepared the following statements in respect of its work. General Policy Statement - Health & Safety, Environment, Equality of Opportunity and Customer CareCatrake Ltd. t/as Yorkshire Dampcourse and Wall Ties / Associated Preservation Systems recognises :- a. Occupational health and safety, and will carry out all works in a way that will prevent injury and ensure a healthy, safe working environment for all its employees. The business also accepts its statutory duties to conduct its undertaking in such a way as to ensure that persons not in its employment, who may be affected by its working activities, are not exposed to risks to their health and safety. b. Environmental issues, and is committed to the protection and enhancement of the environment and to continually improving its environmental performance in carrying out its activities and services and will take all reasonable practicable steps to meet these responsibilities including the disposal of waste material, the safe disposal of hazardous waste and, wherever possible, reducing wastage of material on site. c. Equality of opportunity, and will seek to ensure that no job applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment on the basis of gender, race, disability, colour, nationality ethnic or national origin, marital status, sexuality, responsibility for dependants, religion, trade union activity and age. d. Customer satisfaction, and the need to respond promptly to all customer complaints, endeavouring to resolve the complaint to the satisfaction of the customer in an agreed time scale. Environmental policyIt is the policy of Catrake Ltd. t/as Yorkshire Dampcourse and Wall Ties / Associated Preservation Systems to put its environmental policy into practice by :- a. Paying particular attention to all relevant legislation, regulations and government guidance. b. Meeting industry codes of practice wherever possible. c. Ensuring that all employees know and understand the policy and what is expected of them. d. Making efficient use of natural resources by minimising waste and conserving energy and water. e. Seeking to reduce the wastage of building materials. f. Seeking to use the most environmentally efficient means of transport. g. Using registered waste disposal companies, or licensed tips for the disposal of waste materials, particularly hazardous wastes. h. Keeping sites clean and tidy to ensure minimum disturbance and disruption to clients and their neighbours. i. Ensuring all suppliers and sub-contractors are aware of our policy. In accordance with the Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989, the company is a licensed waste carrier through the Government’s Environment Agency (registration no. YRI/447562). This is required for all contractors managing the disposal of waste from building (and other) works. This means that the waste generated from our work will be handled, under our duty of care, in a prescribed manner and disposed of through a registered waste management system. Ensuring that all employees know and understand the policy. Customer Complaint ResolutionIt is the policy of Catrake Ltd. t/as Yorkshire Dampcourse and Wall Ties / Associated Preservation Systems to put its customer complaints and resolution procedure into practice by :- a. Providing customers with a copy of the company complaint resolution policy statement, when requested to do so. b. Recording all complaints in writing. c. Responding to all complaints promptly, but within a maximum of 3 days. d. Assigning a named company manager to resolve the complaint in line with this policy. e. Recording response to all complaints in writing with details of action taken to resolve complaints. f. Endeavouring to carry out and complete all works to resolve complaints within a maximum of 10 working days. The Director of Catrake Ltd, has overall responsibility for health and safety, environment, equal opportunities and customer satisfaction policies, and will ensure that the policies are properly implemented, monitored and periodically reviewed, in accordance with the relevant statutory provisions. |
